Q. My attention has been so drawn to the various Marian apparitions and the events surrounding them, that have happened over the years, that I now question what is the purpose of our lives at all?

If we are so sinful and doomed, what real hope is there for humanity? Why would we continue living our day to day lives as we do - for what purpose?

Unfortunately I have allowed this preoccupation to infiltrate many aspects of my life and leave me with a feeling of hopelessness.

CH

A. "What is the purpose of our lives at all?" you ask. Well, to answer that question, and to shed some light upon the rest of your concerns, we must first share with you the purpose of Creation - as revealed to m de P by God.

We must remember that God created us in His image. That is, if we take any of the traits found in a human being, except sin, of course!, and raise it to its maximum perfection - that is how "God Is" in that particular aspect - be it Love or Mercy or Justice, etc.

With that as a backdrop, we shall then ask you: When you (and most humans who are not psychologically ill) experience a situation/event which makes you very joyful, what is the first action you wish to take? Isn't it to share that joy and happinness with someone?

God lives in perfect Joy and His Love is perfect. Therefore, if we, miserable as we are, wish to share our joys and love with someone, God, Who Is Perfect, Willed to do the same in a Universal Scale, thus He created the Universe, to sustain us, so that He could have us to share in His Joy and Love. It is that simple!

We were to live in a Paradise-like state, as depicted by Adam and Eve before the fall, but God, in His utmost perfection, allowed us a Free Will; man misused it and fell.

Since satan, out of jealousy, caused our fall, thus, the missing the original opportunity to live in the company of God in Eternal Happiness, God had to devise another plan to "get His children back on track."

He sent His prophets; they were killed. He sent His Son to show us the Way - Jesus Himself - the Word Made Flesh - but His physical body was killed also. However, Being God incarnate, Jesus left a concrete legacy that would help us journey through Time with a minimum of difficulties, so that we could finally be reunited with Him and "retake" the Blissful life that God, the Father, had originally intended for us to have with Him.

In comes the Church Administration and sells itself, thus thwarting again God's Joyful plans for His children. He then utilized several humans within the Church to force the Church Administration back on the right track. Francis of Assisi was one of them - from the cross He commanded Francis to "repair His Church" for it already was almost in ruins! That did not work well either - as it may be easily discerned by the condition of the world today.

God then sends the Perfect Daughter (of the Father), the Perfect Mother (of the Son) and the Perfect Spouse (of the Holy Spirit), Mary, with ever increasing frequency since early 19th Century, to urgently call us back to the Gospel - to the Way Our Lord Jesus Christ had shown us. She was even the Hostess to the greatest Miracle ever witnessed by so many humans at once in October 13, 1917 at Fátima, Portugal, as to underscore the urgency of Her messages then.

To no avail.... Marian Apparitions are turned by the Church Administrators into Profit Centers and into a tool of manipulation and control while criminally betraying their responsibility.

You ask: "What real hope is there for humanity?" The hope is that God, in spite of our sinfulness and the scandalous betrayal by the Church He founded, will no longer depend on any man or group of men to help us back to Him; He will now "handle it" Himself. We find great hope and consolation in that because man, of himself, as manifested in organized religion, has proven to be utterly worthless as the result of his fallen condition.

You also ask: "Why would we continue living our day to day lives as we do - for what purpose?" For the purpose of assiting God in His direct intervention by "paving the way" so that the suffering that awaits mankind is minimized while Divine Justice is being dispensed and prophecy fulfilled.

Do not be preoccupied nor feel hopeless. Join us, the true children of God, in preparing the world - through individual and collective prayer, acts of reparation and Evangelization, through example, to greet Him and enter with and through Him the true Promised Land of Justice, thus, of Peace.

"How come the Pristine Catholic Faith reached us in spite of the betrayal of the Church Administrators?", you may ask. Because, as we have stated numerous times before, even satan must serve God for He is the only Creator and truly Almighty Who Is above all!

Obviously we are not making ourselves clear enough. We trust that this should now do it!

Q. Regarding the Pro-Life and Pro-Choice debate, specifically the point that convinces me that the Bishops' exhortations to vote against John Kerry are not sincere, is that neither George Bush 41 nor George Bush 43 has ever ever done anything substantive to overturn the US Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade decision.

Their positions are simply pandering to the religious right wing of US society. Actions speak louder than words. The Bushed are happy to be perceived as ProLife while doing nothing with their temporal authority to truly affect a change. Nothing sincere or substantive.

Why are the Christians in the US blind to this fact?

Q. You people have a smidgen of Biblical understanding and a glut of goulash of Biblical ideas, most of them not coming even close to accuracy, or truth. Better ask Mary (it is not definitely the Mary of the Bible you are referring to, she would have a fit if she knew that you catholics are making an idol of her, and a god), whoever she is who you are referring to. Your religion is just that - religion, and I do not see anywhere in your writings where you have a personal attachment to Jesus.

Q. I have only one point to contend regarding your article about the removal of the cross. The article has been posted that the ACLU would remove the cross as the symbol of christianity.

I went to a private lutheran school in the US until 8th grade. I was taught that the symbol, while powerful, is interesting to ponder in this day and age. Imagine a hypothetical christian wearing an electric chair or gallows around her throat.
I do not believe that the cross is what Jesus would have left for humanity as the lasting symbol of His works. Christianity is about the resurrection, not the execution of Christ. This is why Easter is the most important christian holy day.

It is important to meditate upon the sacrifice of Christ, but I do not agree that trying to reach out to other religions by simply de-emphasizing a questionable icon is an anti-christian doctrine. Outside of this conversation, we should worship Christ and the Trinity, and not be hung-up on human representations and iconic images.

Who's to say, for example, that the "cross" was actually as popularly depicted? There is no biblical information that the means of execution looks like a lower-case "t". Many Roman crucifixes were single posts, or even posts "tied" to other execution posts.

God alone will sort us out, and to second guess Him is blasphemy. The best we can do is love God, and love our neighbor. To quibble over minutiae is dangerous. "We" do not make God judge by earthly rules, He judges by His own. Live and let live, introduce the Good News if possible. All other gum flapping is just that.

I realize that this will never be responded to, nor will it appear on your web site. I hope that my understanding of the Truth may be enough to cause you to at least further meditate upon the actions which you have set in motion.

P

PS Just in case the Christian God is listening, I am a actually an agnostic. However, I still feel that to have invoked the Lord's name in my quasi serious post may be blasphemous. Just in case, I wink and smile at the end of most every sentence, and give a "thumbs up" to "the Man" (er, God).

A. We have chosen to respond/comment upon these two letters at the same time because they share one common thread: They accurately reflect the perception the multitude of errors Catholics incur in the practice of our Faith. If we were going to have one single answer to both letters it would be: Based on what you perceive, yes, you are right. On the other hand, based on what it really should be you are not right.

Therefore - the first comment that we shall make is: Thank you for writing; Thank you for your sincerity and Thank you for the opportunity that you have given us to help clear the air.

It is obvious that GCrazy9 has not read many of our documents judging by his statement: "You people have a smidgen of Biblical understanding and a glut of goulash of Biblical ideas, most of them not coming even close to accuracy, or truth." We have already referred him to several documents which he has obviously missed while recommending him to become better informed before launching a verbal attack. Let us not make the nonexistent Iraqi Weapons of Mass Destruction - "Oops!" - a way of life.

Regarding to the Virgin Mary - the Mother of Jesus Christ - thus the Mother of God (but not the Primary Cause - since That is God, The Father). Unfortunately, Catholics have idolized Her in practice and the Shepherds have not corrected such behavior. The Catholic Faith - in its pure state - honors and reveres Mary but does not "adore" Her. Although conceived without the original sin (the sin that we inherited from Adam and Eve), She is a human being like all of us - except in sin.

We also frequently encounter in the improper practice of Catholicism the "adoration" of statues or icons of Mary. This is so widespread - especially in Europe - that we find it extremely disturbing and distracting. Statues and icons are intended to be used as we use pictures and statues of loved ones and/or those we wish to honor in a grand scale (a statue in a park, etc.) - as a reminder BUT NOT the object of adoration/devotion. When said objects become the focal point of the prayer, etc., we have fallen into full fledged idolatry.

By the time (7th Century) the Prophet Mohammed was sent by God to remind and correct Christians and Jews about their wayward ways - Catholics were well into the erroneous road of idolizing images, icons AND people! This was the beginning of the Catholic Church and the Pope becoming the objects of our faith instead of keeping God as the ONLY object of our Faith.

The "problem" with the cross does not lie far from this situation. After all - it was under the Sign of the Cross that the Roman Catholics slaughtered the Eastern Catholics when they sacked Constantinople or when they slaughtered the residents of Jerusalem - Muslims: mostly women and children - to recuperate Jerusalem for Christendom (never mind that the Catholics abandoned Jerusalem to begin with and settled in the seat of the Roman Empire to pray in Latin instead of staying in Jerusalem to pray in Aramaic) - a monumental blasphemy against God.

However, because of the countless betrayals to the Goodness of God by those who claim to act in His behalf (killing, maiming and sacking AND NOT forgiving), we cannot rescind the mystical value and meaning of the cross; a meaning that cannot be equated with an electric chair or the gallows. Both of these instruments are used to kill those who rather not die. That is - they are dragged to their death "kicking and screaming": An involuntary death.

The cross, with or without the body, should remind us of Love and not death and hate as Mel Gibson has tried to do. Jesus voluntarily died for us because He loves us and wants to give us the opportunity (this is not automatic) to spend Eternity with Him. Something that we frankly find quite appealing: Spend an Eternity with someone who loves me so much, miserable as I am, that was willing to suffer and die just to give that opportunity - an opportunity which I did not have before. We could not think of a better "traveling partner".

In addition - the cross has the mystical component - which was first revealed to man through Moses. We read in Numbers 21: 5-9:

Nu 21:5 And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread. Nu 21:6 And the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.

Nu 21:7 Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the Lord, and against thee; pray unto the Lord, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people. Nu 21:8 And the Lord said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.

Nu 21:9 And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.

The "serpent" = "sin" ; "dead serpent on a pole" = "dead sin on a pole" ; "Jesus died for our sins on a cross" = "dead sin on a cross". When we look/contemplate/accept/love Him on the cross - we can be "cured" (inspired to conversion) and not "die", a death which is final, if it is entered in mortal sin and rejecting the Mercy and Salvific power afforded by the Passion-Death-and-Resurrection of Jesus (this rejection is the much talked about "Sin against the Holy Spirit").

Historically, the Romans crucified thousands utilizing a basic cross design. Without a doubt, for "entertainment" - a la Abu Ghraib prison in Baghdad, they used other means to torture and kill their enemies. However, it seems that there is a consensus that a typical/basic cross was used for the crucifixion of Jesus. Why argue with that? As you wrote, P: "To quibble over minutiae is dangerous." Or is it that it depends whose "minutiae" we quibble about?

The movement to remove the cross has a mystical hidden symbolism which is: "Deny the cross". We would not recommend doing so. Invoking the same caution as in your PS: "Just in case" that God prefers a cross, we shall stick with the cross. However, if you do not prefer to wear it or venerate it - we accept that, as you surely would accept us wearing it and venerating it and adore Whom it represents.

Keep in mind, P, you may be wrong on the issue of the cross as you were when you stated: "I realize that this will never be responded to, nor will it appear on your web site."

May God Bless you both richly!

Q. May I ask a favor of you please. I am not certain if the enclosed article is 100% true as to what Catholics believe about Halloween or not. Could you please read this article and let me know your thoughts. I'm confused because some of it sounds very anti-Catholic but I''m not sure. I would like to forward this article on to my prayer group.

Thank you so very much.
Blessings,

B

A. For the benefit of the readers at large, following are some quotes from the submitted article:

Rev. Theresa Quinto Pavone TEACHING ON HALLOWEEN - Copyrighted 1997

Christians should not celebrate Halloween because its customs and practices come from an ancient, pagan (Celtic) festival of the dead. Therefore to participate in Halloween is to serve the devil; Christians should not celebrate Halloween because pagans and satanists still observe it today as an - holy day;....

FACT 7 -- While the Roman Catholic Church Christianized the "Vigil of Samhain" on November 1 and called it "All Souls Day" or "All Saints Day" as it is sometimes called today, the satanist religion claimed it for their hallowed eve. Coincidental? No. The Roman Catholics as Christians, felt that if they could not stop the pagans from celebrating their festivals, that they (the Catholic Church) would include them. Hence the old vantage, "if you can't fight them, join them" comes in....

The M+G+R Foundation Comments

Yes,
the roots of Halloween may be found in ancient pagan practices. No, we do not recommend the "celebration" of Halloween any more than we would "celebrate" the anniversary of Roe vs Wade when taken as a law promoting abortion.

Yes. The Roman Catholic Church Christianized this pagan rite, as it did with many others, to assist the new and/or potential converts in the transition from paganism to Christianity. This was done by instituting the Feast of All Saints on November 1st - celebrating the Saints already in Heaven and the Memorial of All Souls on November 2nd - seeking the prompt release of the souls which are still in Purgatory.

When she writes "if you can't fight them, join them", we do not think that she meant that the Roman Catholic Church just changed the names and continued the same pagan rites.

Unfortunately, as the saying goes: "The way to hell is paved with good intentions.", (*) and the All Saints and All Souls days did not become popular and replaced the old pagan mentality. This is another by-product of the failed Evangelization of the Roman Catholic Church which was, and still is, more intent in temporal power than in spiritual power.

Temporal power cannot root out evil since satan is the Prince of this world. Only engaging the power of God, as it was originally done, evil can be rooted out. Result: The celebration of Halloween persistent and now it is being spread to every nation which "we have liberated" by means of aggressive consumerism.

St. Michael, the Archangel, defends us in the day of battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, Prince of the Heavenly Hosts, by the power of God thrust into hell satan and all the evil spirits which prowl through the world seeking the ruin of souls.

Amen!

Q. I did read the note added on Oct. 5 on your How to Vote Document. Even after re-reading it I still thought you were encouraging that Catholic to vote for Mr. Kerry. I am not always able to discern your writing, sorry, and I am sometimes unable to clearly express what I want to communicate. (Yes, I realize that that is part of "these times")

But our bishops are clearly NOT leading us and haven't been for a long time....

...The average Catholic who accepts things at face value may not realize that "remote material cooperation" is STILL a grave evil - and unfortunately once again the clear issue is muddied by our church leaders!!

I realize that you usually don't directly answer - that you want us to think and pray - but still feel that your page is saying it's ok to vote for
Mr. Kerry....

If I have misunderstood your page, I apologize. If I do understand it, I beg you to rethink your answer.

Sincerely,

B W

A. Please understand: We ARE NOT recommending anyone to vote for Kerry, for Bush or whomever. We are trying to teach
people how to access God on-direct (on this matter and all others) since the Shepherds are too busy taking care of their very,
very worldly affairs.

We fully endorse the concluding statement from Cardinal Ratzinger:

N.B. A Catholic would be guilty of formal cooperation in evil, and so unworthy to present himself for Holy
Communion, if he were to deliberately vote for a candidate precisely because of the candidate's permissive stand
on abortion and/or euthanasia. When a Catholic does not share a candidate's stand in favour of abortion and/or
euthanasia, but votes for that candidate for other reasons, it is considered remote material cooperation, which
can be permitted in the presence of proportionate reaso
ns.

Read: Kerry may be barred from communion but a citizen may vote for him "for other reasons" and it will then be considered remote material cooperation, which can be permitted.... etc. etc.

We wish we could do more at this time but there are 6 billion other people out there who also fall under our tutelage. God is the Father
of all - not only of Catholics - and others are in far worse spiritual condition that Catholics are today.

We are neither at the service of the Church nor at the service of man. We are the service of that Father, then, as a result, we are at the
service of man. That is the order of priorities set by God in the First and Second Commandments. Those are the priorities we follow.

We are happy that we have been able to serve you in the past.

May the Holy Spirit of God continue to guide you.

From LR @ USA [Published on October 7, 2004 - Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary]

Q. I am 56. I was married in 1971 in the Sacrament of Marriage at my Catholic Church. Ten years later I knew I was gay. I didn't feel it was fair to my husband, who I still loved, to keep him married when it wasn't his fault. I left with much sadness and much disgust from many relatives.

I couldn't understand why I was welcomed at the altar rail on one day and the next day when I felt I had to tell the truth about my orientation, I was no longer welcomed. I knew in my heart that I still believe in my Lord Jesus Christ.

I knew He would never have turned me away from his table. I have been in a 23 year committed relationship with another woman, who also had a strong love our Lord. Over the years we became celibate, still strongly loving each other. We couldn't lie about who we were.

Then I had a great gift from the Holy Spirit, Who I pray to as much as to God the Father, His Son Jesus Christ, and Mary His mother. I knew my Lord and His Blessed Mother had not turned away from me.

The Gift of The Holy Spirit allowed me to use my being gay as a way to know when my Lord was not truly worshiped in some peoples hearts. It gave me a new way to assess behavior. I knew when I go to Heaven I will neither be male nor female. I know it will be compassion and love that will mean the most.

I know that many people are fooled by George W. Bush as he claims to be a moral man who worships God. I don't doubt that he prays daily as I pray for him daily. People turn away from Kerry believing that he approves of abortion. He believes in "choice". He would prefer that the woman and her mate not have the abortion, but he wants to protect her right to have a choice that is between herself and her Lord.

I have been listening to the Republican convention and I have been so afraid that George Bush will win. I was heart broken 4 years ago when he won the election. Why can't people see by his actions how much hate and lies he can tell. They believe in him.

I have had to face much prejudice over the years, have been told to my face I should be in a concentration camp. I am afraid. I know that God is in control, but I am still afraid if Bush gets in it will push us closer to God's wrath. How can I view this in another way.

I pray, but my fear is still there. Thank you for the time you take to read this. My Our Lord continue to bless you with clear vision.

LJR from USA

A. No. This is not political propaganda. As we have stated before - We are not concerned about politics any more than our Lord Jesus Christ and John the Baptizer were nearly 2000 years ago. HOWEVER, when a politician starts claiming that he/she acts in the Name or on behalf of God, it is the function of miguel de Portugal to step in.

First of all: I, miguel de Portugal, do not recognize Mr. George W. Bush as an agent, representative or servant of God. In his innocence he may believe so and people utilizing him may want him to believe so, but he is not.

Secondly: If the faithful would take the time to carefully and prayerfully review this poor frightened woman's letter in the light of our document about homosexuality and the tremendous importance that nourishing the God seeking soul with Living Bread has, it should not be difficult to discern who truly is behind denying the Holy Communion to those who in earnest seek to rise in the Light of the Lord.

It is to the Glory of God, their true Faith and the loving hearts of LJR and her companion that, even being profoundly in love with each other, they lead a celibate life.

We see more love, more true Christianity and submission to the Divine Will in L and B's lives than we see amongst those who populate the church pews and consider themselves the true guardians and believers of the Faith - clergy included!
