The radical incompatibility of Christianism
with the teachings of "New Age"
with the teachings of "New Age"
PURPOSE
In the first part (1) of this series of two documents we exposed the contradictions of the theories that portray Jesus as a sort of magician taught by other men in hidden knowledge - an approach entirely inconsistent with Jesus deeds and words. In this second part we will expose the connection between these attempts to overthrow the Faith and the establishment of the New Age philosophy (2) as a favorable frame for the entry of the False Christ (3).
DETAILS
The attempt to portray Jesus as an "ascended master", in the sense of being taught by other men and civilizations and achieving spiritual enlightenment without the help of God the Father, thus totally deprived of its Divine origin, is part of a wider picture that might be described as the establishment of a False Trinity - precisely matching with the schemes of New Age philosophy.
In this document, we will consider one by one the illusory pillars of this false trinity (actually, the skeleton of the New Age philosophy), contrasting them with the teachings that Jesus (to whom they call, on their own way, "teacher") gave us. The result, as we shall see, is that the fundamentals of Christian Faith and New Age philosophy are not only irreconcilable but opponents like water to fire. (4)
A False Spirit of God
Instead of the True Holy Spirit of God, they give us: hidden powers of the mind, forces from beyond, occult powers of nature, communication with beings from another dimension, wisdom transmitted by other higher civilizations, interior light, systemic relations of universe, magic, fortune-telling, parapsychology, occultism of all kinds... (5) They admit, correctly, that there are events that can not be explained under the current parameters of human science. But the fundamental problem is that they pretend to explain supernatural phenomena without God. If in some cases the explanation is too embarrassing without the recourse to God, then they make a false "God" on their own way.
To say that Jesus and the apostles were recipients of hidden magical wisdom which should be reveled only to the initiated (a kind of esoteric heritage of ancient civilizations or any other similar concept) is the same thing as calling them practitioners of a big lie and a great hypocrisy. This topic was already discussed in the first part of the present document (1). We will simply add here, as another illustration of the concept, the instructions that Jesus addressed to the Twelve:
"Therefore fear them not. For nothing is covered that shall not be revealed: nor hid, that
shall not be known. That which I tell you in the dark, speak ye in the light: and that which you
hear in the ear, preach ye upon the housetops."
[Matthew 10:26-27]
Therefore, the issue is to reveal, not to conceal. In contrast, to persist in looking for magical explanations hidden by Jesus and the Twelve, is the same as saying that they came to make fun of everyone as unscrupulous frauds. However, we know that all the keys have been exposed to light (6) and propagated to all corners of the world (7). And as for the works of the Holy Spirit of God (8), can they be conjured with magic, scientifically achieved by parapsychology or found in the "inner self"?
A False God the Father
Instead of the True God, they say to everyone that "You will integrate into a Universal Consciousness full of infinite wisdom and love. There is no substantial difference between God and world, spirit and matter, heaven and earth. Any difference between these entities is only apparent, not real. All is one and everything is God. The man is part of the divine, and this divinity you will found by searching inside you." (9)
Of course, declaring that any person can become God himself is clearly a great blasphemy. Although the proposal is not new. In fact, we know that the first "idea registered in the patent office yet to be established" was the man's claim of wanting to be like God [Genesis 3:1-15]. Any way we look at it, these ideas clash directly with the - correct and accurate - monotheistic notion of Divinity.
The reality of God as Creator not Created - i.e. prior to and independent of Creation itself - was so well accepted by the Jewish society in which Jesus lived, that at no time was necessary that He took it as central theme of His teachings. (10) Still, the idea breathes through His words, as when He speak about Divine Providence: "Now if God clothe in this manner the grass that is today in the field, and tomorrow is cast into the oven; how much more you, O ye of little faith?" [Luke 12:28, Matthew 6:30] Poetically expressed, there we find, as separate entities: God, who created the Universe and sustains it; the man as a being created by Him is His own image, but different from Him in substance; and finally the rest of Creation.
What credibility would Jesus had when he said that he came to fulfill the Law and the Prophets, if he would had refused the Living God in whom all Jews believed from the beginning of their history? If Jesus would have thought that God was not a Supreme Being but a kind of universal conscience of mankind, then he would not have said "And call none your father upon earth; for one is your father, who is in heaven." [Matthew 23:9], but, everyone being gods and participants in the support of the Universal Consciousness, instead he would have said "You are like stones. You have no father. You have not been created by a deed of Love."
And the attributes of God: Justice, Mercy, infinite Love... How would be all these things possible? If everything is relative to the conscience - changeable - of mankind rather than to an Eternal and Immutable God, then what is Right today might not be so tomorrow, simply because humanity "has changed its mind an now it seems to be otherwise". What would be the guarantee of an infinite and unfailing love? Humanity policing itself? (11) If humanity participates in that Universal Consciousness, how would humanity avoid of being contaminated by its corruptible part, which it has proven to have century after century? Can a hand wash itself? (4) Do not it need, rather, the purity of the water that comes from outside the body? And Mercy, why? Everyone would forgive himself without further ado...
A False Messiah
Instead of the True Christ - Jesus - they intend to convince us that "With your will and through a process guided by privileged enlightened spiritual directors, one can overcome the human condition and re-encounter the divinity of which we form part. Christ is something more than an individual, is a type of power or position attainable by all humans. The leaders of each religion - Jesus, Buddha, Krishna, Mohammed... - are people who have already reached this state of "christic consciousness" and who can help us to do the same. Everyone is a potential Christ."
In contrast, Jesus speak thus:
"For God so loved the world, as to give his only begotten
Son; that whosoever believeth in him, may not perish, but may have life everlasting."
[John 3:16]
And, what does it mean to be the "Son of God" whom Jesus claims himself to be? Also he gives us the answer:
"I am the living bread which came down from heaven.";" I and the
Father are one." [John 6:51;
John 10:30]
It means that his Divinity proceeds from the Father and that he is one substance with the Father. So, when Jesus says that the Son of God is unique, he is saying that nobody else can be in his position - the Anointed, the Christ, the Messiah. We must also consider that, if the Divinity of Jesus were the result of an "ascension through an enlightening path", he would not say "came down from heaven". And more, if the disciples were equal to him, there would not be necessary to send them in His Name because every one of them would have the same authority as God Himself. However, he tells us:
"Going therefore, teach ye all nations; baptizing them in the name of the
Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost."
[Matthew 28:19]
On the way to the encounter with God there is only one true guide, and that guide is Jesus Christ:
"... neither doth any one know the Father, but the Son, and he to whom it shall please the Son
to reveal him."; "I am the light of the world"; "But be not you called Rabbi. For
one is your master; and all you are brethren."; "Neither be ye called
masters; for one is your master, Christ."
[Matthew 11:27;
John 8:12;
Matthew 23:8;
Matthew 23:10]
And last, but still the most important of all, there it is the role of Jesus as the Redeemer. When the divine attributes of Justice and Mercy are so "lightened" (by means of making them dependent on the conscience of mankind, instead of an inmutable God) as proposed by New Age thought, the salvation of mankind through Christ no longer makes sense. Suddenly, the original sin (the fallen nature of man) has no such serious consequences (not demanding Justice in capital letters) and therefore it does not need a supreme act of Mercy - the sacrifice of His only Son. In other words, they say that it is not necessary for Christ to come as the Saviour of mankind, and that idea is their message when they limit the role of Jesus to merely Master/Teacher - calling him, one more time, a liar:
"For God sent not his Son into the world, to judge the world, but that the world may
be saved by him." [John
3:17]
CONCLUSION
New Age philosophy is directly and radically opposed to the Holy Trinity of God; there could not be more incompatibility with the Christian Faith. They dare to say that the Holy Spirit of God is not what Jesus said it was, and that God the Father is not what Jesus said it was, and that the Son of God, Christ, is not what Jesus preached, but another thing - all the while presuming that Jesus was aware of such "esoteric (hidden) truths".
Expressing it in plain language, they are insulting Jesus by calling him the biggest cheat in history, an unparalleled hypocrite, the absolute forger of Divinity. And, simultaneously, they proclaim with pride that they are followers of Christ, saying that Jesus is part of his circle of teachers, and they make use of the fame of Jesus to give fame to themselves. Is it possible any greater contradiction?
EPILOGUE
The most serious problem is the confusion created in the already disoriented faithful as to the theme of the False Christ. The point is that there are two versions of the False Christ, as there are two manifestations of the True Christ: first, the falsification of the original representation of Christ, the son of Mary and the Holy Spirit; and second, the falsification of the Second Coming of Christ (3).
That is, there has been a true First Coming of Christ and with it there exists its falsification by adherents of New Age philosophy. Now, in the End of These Times, there will be a forgery of the Second Coming of Christ. And finally, after all this, there will be the real Second Coming of Christ to restore the Creation of man to its original point - back to the paradisiacal state after Step No. 17. (12) (13)
NOTES
(1) "Jesus did extraordinary miracles beyond natural
explanation but... That does not make him a magician" (in Spanish)
(3) The False Christ, understood as the Impostor in the forgery of the Second Coming of
Christ, is the subject of this other document (and
Part II) - someone who will pretend to pose as the True
Christ by a misleading staging of His Second Coming. We should not be confused with
the Antichrist in the Second Coming
(more than confirmed), who opposes Christ and paves the way for
the emergence of the False Christ in the End of These Times.
(4) The pure water, that cleans and is source of life, will help us into understanding
the underlying concept of the Holy Trinity

(6) In short, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thy whole heart, and with thy whole
soul, and with thy whole mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. And the second is
like to this: Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments dependeth the
whole law and the prophets." [Matthew
22:36-40], commandments fully exemplified by the life and commitment of Jesus, "A new
commandment I give unto you: That you love one another, as I have loved you, that you also love
one another." [John 13:34]. Putting those
commandments first and foremost "... and all these things shall be added unto you."
[Luke 12:31]
(7) As was foretold by Him, "And this gospel of the kingdom, shall be preached in the
whole world, for a testimony to all nations, and then shall the consummation come."
[Matthew 24:14]
(8) Among many other gifts, "But the fruit of the Spirit is, charity, joy, peace,
patience, benignity, goodness, longanimity," [Galatians 5:22]
(9) In the words of the author of best-seller "The lady
in blue", "Your destiny, like that of all mortals, is to become God. You will integrate in
a consciousness as great as the universe, full of wisdom and love" [Translated from spanish
literal quote from "El Secreto Egipcio de Napoleón", Ch.27, by Javier Sierra, ISBN
978-84-9793-849-5, editorial DeBolsillo, february 2008]
(10) Today, however, minds are so confused that it is necessary to state clearly that
Creation and Evolution are compatible (and
part II)
(11) For example, how do the watchers of Faith defend the weakest men? It brings to our
mind the Vatican statement defining pedophilia as "sin against customs"
