How satan derailed the Evangelization effort

Using inherent human weaknesses

Originally published on March 7th, 2015

FOREWORD

For those who are not familiar with our position regarding the Catholic Faith we can summarize it as follows:

The Catholic Faith is the one Faith which has the greatest concentration of Divinely Revealed Truths.

By no means it has them all since God is the only Plenitude of Truth, but no other Faith has as many Truths in its Spiritual Treasury as the Catholic Faith. Be it the reality of the Seven Sacraments; be it the legitimate practice of Indulgences; be it the reality of Purgatory; be it the truth about the Immaculate Conception and Assumption of Mary, the Mother of Jesus Christ, True God and True Man; be it the Petrine Ministry; etc.

PURPOSE

We often speak of the derailing of the Evangelization effort and that those who were entrusted by Jesus to spread to truly Good News, failed.

The purpose of this brief document is to help the faithful understand how satan managed to achieve such a perverse objective and continues to do so.

As we have often said: "When you know thy enemy and the weapons he uses, you, through the Grace of God,  become more and more immune to their effect."

BACKGROUND

There are a few fundamental pillars upon which such snare has been carried out and continues to be. They follow:

(a) Humans tend to be egocentric, otherwise they would not have survived evolutionary process (1) until God "...breathed into his face the breath of life, and man became a living soul..." [Gen. 2:7] creating him in His spiritual image [Gen. 1:26].

(b) Humans learn primarily by why they perceive by their senses - most specially through their vision and hearing.

(c) Very little escapes what the brain perceives in the unconscious level which, in turn, modulates what the brain consciously learned from visual and audible stimuli.

[The examples of items (b) and (c)  are so many and so varied that the reader should not need that we give specific examples of their manifestation in our daily lives.]

(d) It was during the Protestant reformation that the Biblical texts became available to many except to Catholics loyal to Rome, who were forbidden from reading the Holy Texts.

(e) It was during the mid 19th century that the Roman Catholic Church, during the term of Pope Leo XIII (2) , encouraged the faithful to read the Holy Texts.

(f) Everyone is taught that the Bible - most specially the New Testament - is the Word of God.

INTRODUCTION

There are Biblical teachings which are crystal clear and there are others which require interpretation through coherence with other Biblical Texts. We have already covered this extensively (3). Some Sacred Texts are to be taken literally, while others, symbolically - it all depends -  as we have amply shown.

For the purpose of this document we will adhere to the texts that are crystal clear to avoid the coloring or disfigurement of those teachings that may need interpretation.

DETAILS

We will use only a few clear quotations from the Douay-Rheims Bible - the traditionally official Bible of the Roman Catholic Church - to unmask satan and his snares.

First Example

And call none your father upon earth; for one is your father, who is in heaven. [Matthew 23:9]

But be not you called Rabbi. For one is your master; and all you are brethren. [Matthew 23:8]

When priests encourage the faithful to call them "father" what they are implying is that what Jesus clearly forbade is not to be obeyed. That is what the subconscious brain assimilates and applies. That Roman Catholic Church in Spain has avoided this incoherence by using the title "Don" before the priest's name instead of using "Father", however, the Portuguese faithful, like in the English speaking countries, use the Portuguese translation of "Father".

Second Example

Neither be ye called masters; for one is your master, Christ. [Matthew 23:10]

"Master" implied or stated is used throughout the religious world to imply superiority over the others. Once again, its use by those in charge of the Evangelization process signals to the subconscious mind of the faithful that what Jesus clearly forbade is to be ignored.

Third Example

And now I am not in the world, and these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep them in thy name whom thou has given me; that they may be one, as we also are. [John 17:11]

The term "Holy Father" is used only once in the New Testament and it was when Jesus was addressing God, the Father. Nonetheless, the Pope of the Patriarchate of Rome (which is what the Roman Catholic Church is) has assumed the name of "Holy Father". Not only he claims to be Christ on Earth but has assumed the title that is so special that Jesus only used it once when addressing His Father.

What does the subconscious of the faithful do with such repeated attacks on the truth? Process the information so that whomever is the Pope is like God the Father - Almighty and Omniscient.

Fourth Example

And they love the first places at feasts, and the first chairs in the synagogues, And salutations in the market place, and to be called by men, Rabbi. [Matthew 23:6-7]

When the human eye feasts itself on the Pomp, Ceremony and Luxury which accompanies the Roman Catholic Hierarchy, the faithful subconsciously discounts the very serious condemnation of Jesus towards that behavior. Once again the teachings and warnings of Jesus are ignored, mocked or denied weakening the faith.

Fifth Example

Now this I say, that every one of you saith: I indeed am of Paul; and I am of Apollo; and I am of Cephas; and I of Christ. Is Christ divided? Was Paul then crucified for you? or were you baptized in the name of Paul? [1 Cor. 1:12-13]

For while one saith, I indeed am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollo; are you not men? What then is Apollo, and what is Paul? The ministers of him whom you have believed; and to every one as the Lord hath given. [1 Cor. 3:4-5]

What happens when the faithful reads the above and thinks about the many, many orders within the Roman Catholic Church - Dominicans, Jesuits, Passionists, Opus Deists, etc., etc. and etc.? They subconsciously discount the very important message from Paul just as they discount what Jesus taught.

After all, to the faithful the Pope is infallible (4) and he is the "Holy Father" so, if he approves all of that - the faithful subconsciously accepts that it must be true regardless of what Jesus teaches in the New Testament.

CONCLUSION

Before the Roman Catholics were allowed to read the Holy Texts the destruction of their faith was not as severe as it became after the mid nineteenth century. That can be seen in the vestiges of pre mid nineteenth century Europe.

Up to that point only the Protestants had uncovered the subtle, but effective, attacks to the faith by the Roman Patriarchate so their faith was protected. However, when "cradle" Catholics started reading the Holy Texts, the only way that they could subconsciously hold on to their "cradle faith" was discounting what the Holy Texts taught.

If in such major and visible points the "Infallible Holy Father" was rejecting fundamental teachings of Jesus as if they were lies, how was the faithful going to believe less tangible teachings such as:

Jesus said to them: Because of your unbelief. For, amen I say to you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, Remove from hence hither, and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible to you. [Matthew 17:19]
and
But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his justice, and all these things shall be added unto you. [Luke 12:31]

EPILOGUE

Let us pray for them because Jesus said - and, of course, it is the absolute truth - that....

Woe to the world because of scandals. For it must needs be that scandals come: but nevertheless woe to that man by whom the scandal cometh. [Matthew 18:7]

....and there is no greater scandal that the sabotage of the faith of the little ones - whether they are 7 or 70 years old.
