With the appearance of Our Lady to the three shepherd children of Fátima, Heaven gave mankind an opportunity to mitigate the disasters of the 20^th and 21^st Centuries. Mankind - and in particular, the Administration of the Roman Catholic Church - failed to fully cooperate with this grace. We have lived with the results of this decision, and will soon experience the consequences in full.

• On May 13, Our Lady first appeared at the Cova de Iria, near the village of Fátima, to the three shepherd children: Lucia, Jacinta, and Francisco. She asked the children to return to the Cove for six consecutive months, on the 13^th day of each month.
• On June 13, Our Lady visited the children a second time at the Cova de Iria, and gave them personal and spiritual secrets. Lucia's Fourth Memoir, part of Fátima in Lucia's Own Words, relates what happened. (1)
• On July 13, Our Lady visited the three children a third time at the Cova de Iria. She showed them a vision of hell, and then explained her wishes. Mary told the children not to reveal the details until a later time. (1) However, part of what She said has been public since the 1940s.

The most official version is in the letter composed by Sr. Lucía to Pope Pius XII on October 24, 1940; her letter was modified by the Bishop of Leiria before forwarding it with the date of December 2, 1940. (2) This document contains most of the first two parts of the Secret of Fátima. The entirety of the first two parts of the Secret of Fátima was revealed by Sr. Lucia in her Fourth Memoir. This Memoir had been requested by the Bishop of Leiria on October 7, 1941 and was completed by Sr. Lucia on December 8, 1941. (2)

A translation, recently confirmed by miguel de Portugal, follows:

• God wished to establish devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. If this were done, many souls would be saved and would therefore have spiritual peace.
• Mary promised that World War I would end, due to the prayers and sacrifices of the three visionaries.
• She warned that if there were not a change of heart among the people (a change that should have been led by the Church promoting devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, as Our Lady asked in 1917 and again, specifically, on June 13, 1929), a worse war would start during the Pontificate of Pius XI.
• Our Lady said that she would return to ask for "the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart, and the Communion of Reparation on the First Saturdays." (She did make this request - on June 13, 1929.)
• If Russia were consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Russia would be converted and would have peace.
• If Russia were not consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, that country "will spread her errors throughout the world, promoting wars and persecutions of the Church, the good will be martyred, the Holy Father will have much to suffer." All of this has already happened.
• Another dire consequence of the failure to consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart remains in the future, as of the writing of this document: "various nations will be annihilated," due to wars arising from the worldwide spread of Russia's errors.
• After the annihilation of nations, "my Immaculate Heart will triumph."
• Only then will "The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me," leading to the conversion of Russia.
• After this, "peace will be granted" to the whole "world for some time."

On October 13, "supernatural events accompanied the final apparition of Mary at Fátima. Many of these events (including the 'dance of the Sun') were observed by 50,000-70,000 people (believers and unbelievers alike), and were widely covered at the time by secular Portuguese newspapers." (5)

As the world crises of the 1920s and 1930s deepened, Heaven was not silent. Our Lord and Our Lady told the Church, through Sister Lucia, what needed to be done to prevent the oncoming disasters.

From 1917 to 1939

From the beginning, local and Diocesan church authorities knew of the significance of the Fátima requests. Pope Pius XI was notified in 1930. Nevertheless - and despite the appropriate actions taken by the Church authorities in Portugal from 1917 onward - the Vatican did not respond adequately or in timely fashion to Heaven's requests. (7)

• On November 13, 1917, one month after the final apparition, the Archbishop of the Lisbon Patriarchate began an investigation of the Fátima events, at the request of the parish priest in the village.
• On January 17, 1918, the Vatican established the Diocese of Leiria (which included the region of Fátima), separating it from the Lisbon Patriarchate.
• On April 28, 1919, the results of the Fátima investigation were turned over to the Governor of the Lisbon Patriarchate.
• In October 1921, the Bishop of Leiria authorized open air Masses for the visitors to the apparition site; he had already bought land at the Cova de Iria for a sanctuary there.
• On May 3, 1922, the Diocese of Leiria opened a formal investigation of the Fátima events.
• On October 13, 1922, with the approval of local Church authorities, 3,000 copies of the first issue of "Voz de Fátima" were printed.
• During 1924, the Pious Union of Servites of Our Lady was founded to begin providing priests, physicians, and nurses to assist sick pilgrims to Fátima. This ministry was officially established by the Church under canon law.
• During 1926, with Diocesan approval, 10,000 copies of "The Fátima Pilgrim's Manual" were printed.
• On May 13, 1928, "the Archbishop of Evora (an Archdiocese in Portugal) blessed and placed the first stone of the new Fátima Basilica."
• In 1929, the Bishop of Leiria declared the Fátima apparitions of 1917 to be "worthy of belief."
• Between 1931 and 1943, there were ten editions of a booklet about Fátima, published first in Italian, and then in Portuguese, Polish, English, German, Dutch, Danish, Croatian, Slovenian, and Spanish. (8) The message of Fátima was disseminated within Europe years before the start of World War II (as shown by the multiple printings of early editions of this book, from 1931 through 1934) - but the Vatican failed to act.
• In May 1932, the Vatican's ambassador to Portugal, the Papal Nuncio, presided over the National Pilgrimage to Fátima; two days later, he wrote, "Fátima is a true blessing for Portugal. I am convinced that Mary will always protect this Nation.... and will save it from the great dangers which threaten the whole of society." Again: by mid-1932, the Vatican knew what Fátima meant.
• On September 13, 1939, the Bishop of Leiria, Portugal - who had jurisdiction over the Fátima area - began to promote acts of reparation on the first Saturdays of each month.

From 1920 to 1957, Bishop D. José Alves Correia da Silva governed the Diocese of Leiria, which contains the village of Fátima. (9) He was known as the "Bishop of Fátima," and is buried in the Basilica of Fátima because of his commitment to Fátima and his recognition of its significance. (8)





In 1946-47, Msgr. Harold Colgan and John Haffert co-founded the Blue Army of Our Lady of Fátima. (10) Haffert worked with Sister Lucia to develop the "Fátima Pledge" in 1946; this became the "Blue Army Pledge" in 1948. (11) Haffert also was the editor of Scapular Magazine, which led one million Americans to enroll in the Blue Army of Our Lady of Fátima and to pray for the Soviet Union. (11) The Blue Army and its message of prayer was endorsed by Pius XII, Cardinal Tisserant (dean of the College of Cardinals under Pius XII), Bishop de Silva of the Diocese of Leiria, Paul VI, and Padre Pio. (12) (The Marian Movement of Priests, which promotes itself as the replacement for the Blue Army, has never gained such ecclesiastical endorsements.) (12)

The Soviets themselves blamed the Blue Army (along with Hitler and the Cold War) for their failure to communize the whole world after 1917. (12)  The Blue Army prospered, despite Soviet-backed accusations that the movement was a CIA front, despite accusations that the Blue Army was financed by the schismatic, far-right Archbishop Lefebvre, and despite "opposition of many around the Pope." (12) Again, faithful laymen and humble priests understood what Fátima meant, and carried Our Lady's message worldwide, despite opposition from the Soviets and from some churchmen in high places.





By August 1931, time had run out.

Because of the Vatican's tardiness, the time for the Pope to consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary (and to avert the chastisement of the world) ran out. In an August 1931 letter to her bishop, Sister Lucia said that the Virgin Mary informed her that Her "requests had not been fulfilled in time, and that the consequences would be dire: (5)



By August 1931, time had already run out. Very soon, events in Asia, Africa, and Europe set the world on course to totalitarianism and global war. In September 1931, Japan attacked Manchuria, the first act of aggression in what became World War II. The world depression deepened, paving the way for the Nazi seizure of power in Germany. (5)

During the night of January 25-26, 1938, an unprecedented aurora lit the sky over most of Europe and North America. The red glow was so intense that fire crews in some areas were sent out to look for local fires. Sister Lucia saw the sky turn red from 9 pm until 2 am, and knew that this was the "unknown light," the "great sign" from God that it was too late to avert war. (5)

After this "great sign," a chain reaction of events led Europe toward a new world war

During the reign of Pius XI, as the Church failed to seek all the aid that it could have obtained for the whole world from God and from the Virgin Mary, the Nazis and their allies were invoking all the aid they could get from below. (13) God allowed satan a free hand once His Church had ignored His requests. (5)

Contrary to Ratzinger's accusations in his speech at Auschwitz on May 28, 2006, (14) God had not been "silent." Instead, the Vatican had been deaf to timely warnings from Heaven. (5)

The Holy See delayed the consecration of Russia to 1942 (October 31 and December 8), with repeat efforts in 1952, 1964, 1982, and 1984. (5) The consecration prayers were not done in accordance with the formula requested by the Virgin Mary. In particular, Our Lady requested the consecration of Russia - not "the world," as the Vatican prayers have usually petitioned - to Her Immaculate Heart. (15)


The most recent Papal consecration was done by John Paul II in 1984. Many commentators believe (and publicly insist) that this consecration was done as Mary requested, and was successful. Unfortunately, this is not the case - if we believe the Marian message revealed in the 1940s and quoted above. (Pope John Paul II did not seek out the details of Fátima events until after the assassination attempt against him on May 13, 1981.) (8)

Mary's July 1917 prophecy set forth a specific sequence of events: (3)

•  If Mary's requests were not heeded, then first: "various nations will be annihilated:"
• And then, "finally my Immaculate Heart will triumph."
• And then, "The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me, which will be converted,"
• And then, "peace will be granted to the world for some time."

None of these events have occurred yet. (3)

On October 8, 2000, John Paul II prayed thus to Our Lady: "Here we stand before you to entrust to your maternal care ourselves, the Church, the entire world." (15) However, the Mother of Our Lord Jesus Christ knows the difference between Russia and the World; She requested the consecration of Russia, specifically. (15)

The consecration efforts from 1942 onward were too late to avert World War II, the Holocaust, and the global spread of Russia's deadly errors. The time for the consecration to have occurred, with the full effect desired by God, came and went during the Pontificate of Pius XI. By 1938 - indeed, by August 1931 - it was too late to avert the disasters that Heaven had warned against.


When Pope John XXIII read the Third Part of the Secret, he did the only two things he could reasonably do: (2)

• He did not make the visual part of the Third Part of the Secret public. The M+G+R Foundation agrees with Pope John's decision not to release the Secret in 1960. (2) It was not the fault of John XXXIII that the Church machinery delayed such information from reaching the Pope for almost eighteen years (1942-1960)! By then, it was already too late for the Church to respond to the Secret (leading the faithful into intense prayer and reparation, to mitigate the tribulations that had already begun.) - even if it was only the unexplained visual part of the secret. What Sister Lucia wrote and sent to the Pope was only the imagery without the explanation of what it meant as per Mary's verbal explanation at the time of the revelation.
• He launched Vatican Council II in an effort to get the Church more in line with Will of God. By these means, he intended to minimize the enormous suffering that awaited humanity, and to minimize the level of destruction that awaited the wayward Church.

Pope John's successors made similar efforts. (2)

• Paul VI declared that the smoke of satan had entered in the Church, and quickly abrogated the canon requiring official approval for the publication of documents relating to Marian Apparitions that had not yet been approved by the Church. By doing so, he opened the doors for Heaven to speak freely and undisturbed to the faithful, in spite of the fact that the enemies of God were already well entrenched within the Hierarchy.
• John Paul II did not stop traveling the world, personally evangelizing it. He knew how serious the situation was, how little time was left and that most of the clergy continued to occupy itself with worldly matters while neglecting the flock.
• If one studies all Encyclicals published by John XXIII, Paul VI and John Paul II (until 1994), and then visualizes what the Roman Pontiffs were attempting to remedy, one would then come to know the third part of the Secret of Fátima that was transmitted by Lucia in writing.

It is 80 years too late to prevent the chastisement of mankind that Our Lady warned against at Fátima and in more recent apparitions. Present-day agitation to consecrate Russia according to the form given to Sr. Lucia is pointless. (3) Indeed, these requests are opening a spiritual trap for mankind. Many of the faithful believe that if the Consecration were done correctly now, it would avert a new and greater World War. What would happen to these people's Faith if the Consecration were done now in the prescribed form by the Vatican authorities - and then the nuclear Third World War came anyway? The question answers itself. (18)

However, with our prayers and acts of reparation, we can still reduce the severity of the impending great chastisement. (19)

With World War II and its associated genocides, and with the worldwide spread of Russia's errors after 1945, more than 100 million people have been killed; countless more have endured extreme suffering. (19) All of this occurred because the Church hierarchy chose to disobey clear, simple directives from Our Lord and Our Lady. (19)

In recent years, the Church authorities have remained negligent - or worse

1.- In 1996, during his tenure as Prefect of the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF), Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger attempted to deflect apocalyptic expectations surrounding the Apparition and the messages given by Our Lady. (20)

• On October 13, 1996, Ratzinger visited Fátima, and answered questions from Radio Renascensa, the most popular station in Portugal. (21) According to a report in Echo of Mary, a newsletter that promotes the Medjugorje phenomena, the Cardinal told "all the curious people" that "'the Virgin does not create sensationalism, or fear, nor does She present apocalyptic visions. Instead, She guides men towards Her Son, and this is the essential.' If after 80 years the secret has still not been published it is because: 'the Church wishes to oppose the expectation of unheard-of things so that Marian devotion remains sincere. Our Lady did not appear to the little shepherd children - unknown by the world - to create sensation, but to call the world back to the Sacraments.' The decision to reveal the secret 'depends on the Pope, but let us not forget that the Pope is guided by the Holy Spirit...'" (22)
  
• According to the same Echo of Mary article, the "Cardinal then visited Sr. Lucia, the 89 year-old visionary in the Carmelite convent of Coimbra, and confirmed that the third secret 'does not regard something which we will have to one day face, but is a help to the faith.'" (22) It is odd that Ratzinger felt the need to "confirm" the contents of the third secret with anyone, because this article, published in 1996 while John Paul II was Pope, indicated that Ratzinger was "one of the few people besides the Pope who knows the secret of Fátima." (22)
• On January 30 1997, the Portuguese periodical Visão made a similar report on Ratzinger's October 1996 visit to Fátima. (23) They said (in translation), "Faced with the recent wave of expectation of apocalyptic events, the Vatican saw the need to send Cardinal Ratzinger last October to Fátima to announce that the secret no longer has any importance; that it does not exist any longer. 'It does not pertain to the future of the world (...) The Virgin Mary does not want speculations about the future, nor does she want to scare anyone.'" (24)

With these statements, Cardinal Ratzinger was - in effect - dismissing the original Fátima revelations and events as a lie. miguel de Portugal warned Ratzinger that if this were the case, "The Vatican has endorsed, and continues to endorse, the biggest financial fraud in the history of the Church and should be prosecuted in an International Tribunal." miguel concluded with a warning to Ratzinger and his allies: "Lying, denying, and ignoring is not the way to serve the Truth Incarnate - Jesus Christ. Confessing wrongdoing and seeking forgiveness is. miguel de Portugal, in the Name of God, have pleaded with and warned those who shamelessly control, for the satisfaction of their egocentric purposes, the Church founded by Our Lord Jesus Christ. There is still time to temper the level of suffering God will allow upon the Church and mankind by abandoning the erroneous path chosen by the Masters of the Vatican." As might have been expected (given their previous behavior), the Vatican - and Ratzinger and his confederates - did not heed this warning.

The documents that the Vatican released on June 26, 2000 were disinformation: the alleged text of the Third Secret, and more than 30 pages of literary obfuscation "explaining" it. In perpetrating this fraud, the Vatican was trying to cover its tracks for its abysmal failure at not having heeded the Message of Fátima at the proper time. (2) It is oddly coincidental that this document was released on June 26, (25) the date of the death in 1975 of Josemaría Escriva, the "saint" who founded Opus Dei. (26)


Several items illustrate the Vatican's deceit

In the Vatican "secret," Sr. Lucia described a vision. The only words that were spoken were from the angel who said: "Penance, Penance, Penance!" (27)

However, when Sr. Lucia revealed the first two parts of the Secret decades ago, she noted that Our Lady told her, "In Portugal, the dogma of the Faith will always be preserved; etc.... Do not tell this to anybody. Francisco, yes, you may tell him." The "etc." contained the words of Third Secret, which was a statement by the Virgin Mary, and not a vision. Francisco could see Our Lady and the visions, but could not hear her words. That is why Lucia needed the permission of Our Lady to tell Francisco what she had heard. If the Third Secret had been a vision (as the Vatican claims), Francisco would have seen it, just as he saw the vision of Hell on that same day. (27)

In the Vatican version of the "secret," Lucia referred to "...a Bishop dressed in white, we had the impression that it was the Holy Father ..However, at the time of the July apparition, the children did not know who the Holy Father was; only later did two priests explain this to the visionaries. (27) As Sr. Lucia told her bishop in her Third Memoir, written in the second half of 1941:


Again, Our Lady told the Third Secret to Lucia; the Secret was not a vision, as the Vatican claims it to be.


All of these ecclesiastical crimes represent a fulfillment of the prophecy in which the dragon "poured water like a river out of his mouth after the woman, to sweep her away with the flood (Revelation 12:15). (27)

The enemies of the authentic message of Fátima come from the extreme left and the extreme right, but they have a common foe. (30) Their target is the traditional (but non-fanatical) Faith that the Catholic Church has passed on to us for 2,000 years (despite the often scandalous, faithless behavior of her leaders).

Both the leftists and the rightists, who wish to remake the Church and the world to attain their self-centered political goals, intend to undermine the authentic teachings of the Church, so that they can foist their own counterfeit "Christianity" on the disoriented faithful.

An effective way to discredit the Faith would be to make the Popes of the 20^th Century, the most prominent teachers of the Catholic Faith, appear to be superstitious and gullible. Since the Popes from 1917 onward publicly supported Fátima and other legitimate Marian apparitions, the enemies of the Faith seek to discredit the Popes and their true teachings by discrediting the Marian apparitions that the Popes have endorsed.

These ecclesiastical Masons (31) reason to themselves that if they can discredit Fátima, they can destroy belief in all other authentic Marian apparitions (the ones not manipulated by the same cults within the Church), since Fátima is the highest profile apparition of the Virgin Mary. (32)

• The extreme leftists propose secular utopianism with a "liberation theology" gloss; they intend to discredit and suppress Marian teaching and devotion entirely.
• The extreme rightists are laying the groundwork for a False Christ who will promise to "save" the world from the leftists if mankind will "fall down and worship me" (Matthew 4:9); these people mean to replace the authentic Christ-centered Mary of Fátima with a false "Mary" who will point people to the False Christ.

Other opponents of the message of Fátima

The enemies of the true message of Fátima may also be found outside the walls of the Vatican.

Mary's warnings, as given in authentic apparitions since 1830, are coherent; the messages given are consistent with each other across time and space. Thus, it is possible to know the key parts of the long-hidden Third Secret of Fátima.

The (real) Third Secret: provable facts from the record

A. The May 13, 2000 sermon by Pope John Paul II

On May 13, 2000, Pope John Paul II visited Fátima and celebrated the Eucharist as part of the ceremonies for the beatification of Francisco and Jacinta Marto, two of the three visionaries of 1917. During the Mass, the Pope offered a homily which revealed much of the authentic contents of the Third Secret. (41)

1.- John Paul II tied the apparitions of Fátima to Chapter 12 of the Book of Revelations, one of the Scripture readings that were part of the Mass.


His Holiness identified the "Apocalyptic woman" of Revelations 12 with Mary as She appeared at Fátima. It logically follows that the fulfillment of the remaining prophecies from the Book of Revelations was soon to come.

2.- He reminded us that Francisco and Jacinta lived with the knowledge of the Secret engraved in their hearts, guiding their every action.


When Our Lady warns that "the destiny of her children are at stake," we ought to pay close attention - and not dismiss Her warnings as pious, pessimistic fables!

3.- The Pope said that the example of the life of prayer and penance that Francisco and Jacinta gave us was to be emulated by the faithful as we lived through the period of Tribulations. Such prayer and penance would assist us in living through the Tribulations while shortening them.


4.- John Paul II clearly tied this period of Tribulations to the present time, and said that he was the Holy Father whom Jacinta had seen suffering so much.


These "dark and anxious hours" for humanity were the present time, from 2000 (the year of the beatification) onward. Thus, the Pope circumvented those who wished to consign Fátima and its Secrets to the past.

5.- Finally, the Pope associated the dragon of Revelations 12:3 ("Another portent appeared in heaven; behold, a great red dragon") with the evil that pervades the world today.


For the Pope, the dragon remained a present danger, and the evils he described were not limited to Communism or to the Soviet bloc. When the Pope said that the message of Fátima is "a call to conversion, alerting humanity to have nothing to do with the dragon," he signaled that the alert is ongoing, as the battle against the dragon continues.

In this way, John Paul II tied the Third Secret and its warnings to the present time and to the immediate future, giving the lie to the propagandists who say that the Third Secret pertains only to the past. As John Paul II continued to weave the Book of Revelations together with the world of today, he was subtly reminding us of the reality of that book and its prophecies, and reminding us that we were - and are now - living in the End of These Times.


B. The custodians of the Third Secret from 1942 through Paul VI

Sister Lucia wrote down the Third Secret in 1942, sealed it in an envelope, and gave it to Bishop D. Manuel Maria Ferreira de Silva, of the Diocese of Gurza; he gave it to D. José Alves Correia de Silva, the Bishop of Leiria - who then sealed the envelope containing the Secret inside another envelope, and kept it until he died in 1957. (2) The next Bishop of Leiria, D. João Pereira Venáncio, then received the envelope and later sent it to John XXIII in Rome. Pope John read it, re-sealed the envelope, and did not share it with anyone, according to Cardinal Alfredo Ottaviani (who headed the Holy Office/Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith from 1959 until his retirement in 1968). Ottaviani believed that the envelope with the Secret passed to Paul VI.


C. The sad contents of the Secret

It is known that the Third Secret would sadden those who hear it. On October 11, 1917, two days before the Miracle of the Sun, during questioning by Father Formigäo, Jacinta was asked: If people would know the secret, would they become sad? Jacinta answered: Yes. The same question was posed to Francisco, without Jacinta being present, and his answer was identical: Yes. (2)


D. No evidence that the Secret was to have been released by the "Pope of 1960"

There is no verifiable, original-source evidence to support the rumor that the Pope was supposed to reveal the Third Secret to the world in 1960. (2)

Assembling and summarizing the above evidence: the (authentic) Third Secret tells us that we are living through the fulfillment of the prophecies of the Book of Revelations now (and in the immediate future), and that we should respond with prayer and penance. The Third Secret is Apocalyptic, and has not been already fulfilled.

La Salette, 1846

Our Lady gave the following secret to Melanie (one of the visionaries), and allowed her to make it public in 1858. Our Lady warned of tribulation for the world, and apostasy in high places in the Church:


As Mary warned, so it has happened. Rome has lost the Faith, and is now the seat of the Antichrist. (44)


Rosa Mystica, 1947-1966

In Her Apparitions of Montechiari and Fontanelle, Italy, (1947 - 1966), (44) Our Lady stated: "I wish that the 13th July be celebrated each year in honour of the Rosa Mystica (the Mystical Rose)". During this apparition, which occurred on July 13, 1947, (44) Pierina asked whether a miracle would follow.Our Lady replied:


During the third apparition, on October 22, 1947, Our Lady said,


During the fourth apparition, on November 22, 1947, (44) Our Lady appeared in the Basilica of Montichiari in the presence of some people. Among them were several priests. Pierina heard the words:


Now we know that these "grievous sins against purity" include child abuse by priests and religious worldwide, and the complicity and connivance of bishops - up to and including Joseph Ratzinger. The Church was warned more than 60 years ago, and turned a deaf ear. How much longer can the "flood of punishments" be delayed?


Garabandal, 1961-1965

In Her apparitions of San Sebastián de Garabandal, Spain (1961 - 1965), Our Lady warned of impending chastisement unless mankind repented:

In Her first message, given on October 18, 1961, the Virgin Mary said:


The last message of Garabandal was given on June 18^th, 1965, through the intervention of St. Michael the Archangel. (46) Our Lady said:


It is ironic that the Vatican has not approved the apparitions of Rosa Mystica or Garabandal, yet the behavior of the leaders of the Church has silently confirmed the truth of these apparitions. (45)


Akita, 1973

From July 5 through October 13, 1973, Our Lady appeared to Sister Agnes, a nun living in Akita, Japan. The Virgin Mary gave three verbal messages to the Sister - who was "stone deaf" at the time. A statue of Our Lady shed blood, human perspiration, and tears on various occasions from July 1973 through September 1981. The Bishop of the Diocese in which these phenomena occurred gave approval to them in a 1984 pastoral letter, and this letter received the approval of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in 1988. The Akita apparition is fully approved by the Church, just as Fátima was. (47)

Summarizing

From La Salette to Fátima to Rosa Mystica to Garabandal to Akita, the message is clear to those with eyes to see and ears to her: the Great Chastisement is imminent. The apostasy, unspeakable lust, greed for power and wealth, lies, and willful negligence committed by the Temple Masters of our time have contributed greatly to our peril, and brought humanity to the precipice.

As the lights go out worldwide, let us nevertheless keep the faith, abide in charity, and remain hopeful. Such hope is not facile optimism, but is based on the promises made by God through Scripture and his prophets. Even amidst trials, we may say with Job:


The world is not ending, and the trial will be brief. After the Great Tribulation comes the True Dawn, the return in Glory of our Lord and God and Savior, Jesus Christ. He will rescue His people, cast Lucifer and his lieutenants into the Abyss, and renew the face of the earth. Although evil seems triumphant now, its dark towers (in the Vatican and elsewhere) will soon crumble to nothing. Soon, we will see the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Our Lady.

Pope John XXIII, Paul VI, and John Paul II did all that they humanly could to make the message of Fátima known to the faithful and to the world, and to shore up the Faith and Marian devotion. (28) Rather than further offending God by blaming them for all that ails the Roman Catholic Church today, we should examine whether or not we, ourselves, are fully living out the directions given by Jesus and Mary.

In particular: (28)

• What is each one of us doing to put in practice and share the gift Heaven gave to the world in Fátima (49)?
• How many rosaries (50) do we offer a day?
• Do we pray the ViaCrucis (51) frequently?
• Do we frequently partake of The Sacrament of Reconciliation (52)? Only Mary was Immaculate (53); the rest of us are sinners and need frequent Sacramental reconciliation with God.
• Do we make it a practice to offer reparation (54) to the Eucharistic Presence of Our Lord, who is so abandoned in all Tabernacles of the earth?
• Do we also make reparation to the Immaculate Heart of His Mother, including the First Saturday devotions (55)?
• Do we think that we are really special and better than this or that individual? (56) We will only be really special when we do not feel that way!
• Are we praying enough (57) to spiritually assist the priests and members of the Hierarchy? If they fall, (58) do not blame God. It is our responsibility!
• How about praying for the murderers, rapists, child abusers, and abortionists (59)? Are we praying enough for them as Our Lord Jesus Christ clearly instructed us to do?

As the Blue Army's John Haffert reminded us in his memoirs: "'The Rosary is not the most important request' ... the essential request ... was ... 'Will you be willing to accept whatever God will send you and to offer it up for the conversion of sinners and in reparation for the offenses committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary?' ... she emphasized that it is the fulfillment of one's daily duty, according to one's state in life ... which is the primary condition for turning back of the tide of evil which threatens today's world ... " (12)

The choice is ours. Either we make sure that we have an ample supply of oil for our lamps or we do not have it. The consequences of either choice could not be clearer in the Holy Scriptures according to Matthew 25:1-12. The world should now consider itself amply warned!
