News Report
According to the news published by EWTN on August 31st, 2005:
On September 14, during his trip to the Vatican for a Wednesday public audience, the Pontiff
will bless a statue of St. Josemaria Escriva, the founder of Opus Dei. The statue was recently
installed in the outer wall of St. Peter's Basilica...
Significance
On that Holy and very significant day (1), when Catholics celebrate the Triumph of the Cross, and at that very blessing ceremony, the Words of Our Lord and Master Jesus Christ, as recorded by Matthew on Chapter 24, verses 15-21, will have been confirmed and will continue to be fulfilled in their totality.
When therefore ye see the abomination of desolation,
which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let him that readeth
understand), then let them that are in Judaea flee unto the mountains; let him that is on the
housetop not go down to take out things that are in his house; and let him that is in the field
not return back to take his cloak. But woe unto them that are with child and to them that give
suck in those days! And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on a sabbath; for
then shall be great tribulation, such as hath not been from the beginning of the world until now,
no, nor ever shall be. [Matthew 24:15-21]

EPILOGUE
May those who have Eyes, See and those who have Ears, Hear! (3)
However, do not despair, here is what we, in general (4), can do, and you, as an individual (5) can do. Beyond that, we offer some basic physical survival suggestion (6).
Now, you may go in the Peace and Safety of God! (7)
NOTE added on June 8th, 2021
Please note that this document was written ten days before the blessing of the statue. Since that ceremony was indeed performed on the scheduled date, we can already affirm the confirmation in the past tense:

NOTES
(1) The Feast of the Holy Cross has a great importance in the Byzantine as well as the
Latin Churches. It is, in a sense, a renewal of Holy Friday, with the difference that on Holy
Friday, Redemption by the blood and death of Christ is commemorated, while here the Cross is seen
as a sign of glory and victory: the glory of Christ and Christianity, and our own victory over
evil and sin. ... With the Cross, suffering appears no longer as the work of blind Destiny that
crushes us and leads us to revolt: it becomes a proof of love, the close imitation of Christ, the
cleansing of sin, a sharing in the redemption of mankind and a ladder to the summit of heavenly
glory.
(4) It is obvious that everything in the world is crashing down. So...
What can we do?
(5) The world institutions are crashing down. So... What
can I, as an individual, do?
